Merry Christmas - part I

Isaiah 9:6-7 (ESV)

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom,

Luke 2:1-7 (ESV)

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.  This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria.  And all went to be registered, each to his own town.  And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,  to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.  And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth.  And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

May Christ, who loves you unconditionally, once again be reborn anew in your hearts, minds, and souls.  May His love be the abiding joy in your season and throughout the days of your journey.  May you with a merry heart, tender love, and uplifted spirit enjoy the gift that was first wrapped in a manager, then wrapped in a tomb, and will come again wrapped in glory.  I wish you and all those you know and love the fullness of joy that comes in this season of love and giving!
