I am just sharing some of the post race photos from my runner. Sydney ran in the "Girls on the Run 5K". She did an amazing time and posted her best time so far. This was her 3rd race and my first as her running buddy. Before the race she told Trish that she was going to try to improve her time from last year and she did.
She was amazing during the entire race. We started out in the cold with a brief walk before starting a jog to get the blood flowing and our feet thawed. Pretty soon we were in a light job. The pace was really good. We jogged the first mile at a great pace, took a brief break to walk and then tie shoes. Afterwards Sydney reset the pace and ran most of the second mile and then the last half of the third mile. It was a great pace given the cold weather and her cold aching feet and hands.
I am proud of her practice, and race preparation. She trained hard, was up early on race day and made her mind up that she was going to make it in about 40 minutes. Her time was 40 minutes and 11 seconds.
Great job Sydney. You were born to be great, and everyday you are doing just that. I am so proud of you and keep running, keep being awesome, keep being you.
You go girl, you rock!
