My morning is off to a quick start and I am excited for all the joy, gladness, grace, and peace that are headed my way today. I hope that you are getting off to a really quick, exciting, and fantastic start to your Friday! Welcome to Friday! I believe that today is going to be filled with goodness, blessed by the Glorious One, and gift wrapped with an abundance of joy, success, victory, favor and fellowship. I have this "happy anticipation" that our Father in heaven is about to do some great things on behalf of his children, including you and me.
How are you doing? How are things going for you and going in your week? Did you get off to a good start with things on Monday. Were you able to make it through your week with success and a sense of good accomplishment? What was the highlight of your week, and what kind of things have made your heart glad and filled with gratitude.
We have had a really good week. Trish and I managed to have our date night over the weekend. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at Smashburger and enjoyed conversation and laughs. I really enjoyed the food too, but the conversation and company far exceeding anything the store had on the menu. We even managed to get time to enjoy a free cup of coffee over the weekend too.
We had a jam packed Saturday. We had choir practice with the girls and then made a quick swing down to Georgetown. We spent most of the afternoon with my sister-in-law, mother-in-law and nephews. It was a lot of fun to catch up, relax, and throw down on some of my mother-in-law's spaghetti. It was so good that I think we all had seconds. Maybe not Trish, but the rest of us sure took it out. While there I didn't get to check in on momma, but I did catch up briefly with daddy. While driving down the road I saw him on the tractor bailing hay. The kids didn't recognize him at first because he was pulling something out of the hay baler, and had a hat cover part of his face. On the way back, Cassarra drove and did a really good job. It was good experience for her, and gave me a chance to sit int he backseat and rest up.
Sunday was a blast. The girls sang with the youth choir and they really knocked it out the park. Sydney and Gabbi were able to lead parts of the worship songs and they did extremely well. Afterwards Sydney and Paige joined me on a trip to Rock Hill for a Homecoming/Anniversary celebration. I gave the devotional and enjoyed a lot of old school hymns and musical songs. At least four or five different groups sang hymns of praise and worship with no accompaniment. It reminded me, in a good way, of the trips to Alabama during the summer and all those revivals we went to.
The rest of the week was a great blast as well. We had Ava go to school for the first time and she seemed so excited. She was anxious to go, so much so that she barely slept the night before. She kept getting out of the bed, until finally she fell asleep in our room. Thursday morning she was bright-eyed and ready for the day. I, on the other hand, was not really ready to drop her off. It was hard to do it, and even when Ava told me to leave her I was still apprehensive. After we got the brief first day update, I took the big girls out to prepare for the first football game of the season. I caught two beautiful and captivating images of the moon and the night clouds. What a creative and amazing God!
Well, I could go on and on, but I want to let you go and enjoy the beautiful day, magical moments, and many blessings God has planned for you today. Join me in praying for the best and expecting God to do "exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think (Eph 3:20)." May the Glorious One fill you with grace and mercy, making your life "naturally reflect the transforming love and power of Christ." May you experience joy and peace, and may "others notice your joy and peace and want to understand." Have a great day! As always,
