Welcome to Friday - 11.14.14

Looking forward to that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God & our Savior Jesus Christ.  Titus 2:13
Welcome to Friday

Good morning!  I woke up this morning, stepped outside the door and was greeted by cool winds, crisp morning air, and the reminder that God is good, in control, and utterly more amazing than I can imagine.  Just take one look at the trees and you can get a glimpse of His creativity, wonder, power, and majesty.  In our neighborhood, the trees are decorated in beautiful colors; red, orange, burnt sienna, yellow, yellow/green and a palette of hues in between. The colors, the crisp air, the puffy smoke colored skies, the sunrise and sunsets of majesty are simply breathtaking and awe inspiring.  Today is going to be a great day.

Welcome to Friday!  How are you doing?  How is your day going so far?  How was your week?  What did you get done and what will you have to leave over until later on?  I truly hope that you have had a great week.  I hope that you were able to enjoy the blessings of family, friends, and loved ones.  I hope that you were successful in completing the things that needed to be done and things that you wanted to get done.  I also hope that you were able to keep track of the difference.  What was the highlight of your weekend and week?  I hope you are well and that you are doing well today.

I had a great weekend and an excellent week.  I enjoyed a number of great blessings over the weekend and during the course of this week.  My favorite blessing of this weekend and week was celebrating 15 years of marriage to my beautiful wife.  I am so thankful that we have been able to share our lives together over these 15 years of marriage, and that we have known each other and been friends for many, many years.  I took off last week Friday and we shared breakfast, a homemade lunch, and a dinner date (at home) together.  Ava thought I was staying home for her, and of course she was constantly asking me to do things with her.  It was very funny.  If I sat down with Trish, she came over and sat down too.  When we had lunch, she sat at our table.

Anyway, we did manage to enjoy coffee, bagels (Asiago cheese), and a lot of time chatting.  We reminisced about meeting each other in 7th grade.  We laughed about my first gift to her then, and how badly it went that day.  We talked about our prom, dating in high school, and the good parts of college.  On Saturday, our actual anniversary, we enjoyed warm wishes from so many great friends and family.  We spent the morning being lazy, laughing, and having our kids celebrate with us.  We managed to get time away to enjoy lunch, including a surprise from Vincent, who saw us coming out of the "California Dreaming" and wished us the funniest Happy Anniversary ever!  We laughed with him for a few minutes and then he wished us well.  After dinner we caught a great movie, "The Best of Me," hung out for a while and then made our way back home.

Our anniversary celebration concluded on Monday.  I pretended that I was heading back to work, ran some errands, killed some time, and then returned home to enjoy another day with Trish and the girls.  It was one of the best weekends ever!

The rest of the week had no choice but to be great.  Well, mostly!  It was really tough to go to work on Tuesday.  Ava asked me why I had to go back to work, she even tried to go with me.  At work I was immediately greeted with 365 emails from while I was out, along with the usual circus of things that go on in offices.  I kept thinking how awesome it felt being out of the office, and that was tough.  However, eventually the email pile was complete, the circus was back under control (mostly), and I realized that I could still enjoy my great memories.  Plus, I knew it was a short work week!

The girls are doing well.  Sydney, Paige, Ava and Emma enjoyed their weekend as well.  Their cousins Jaziah and Bryce were at our house.  They played outside, inside, and on every electronic device they could find until they were all dead.  Paige and Ava played basketball with Jaziah, rode scooters with Bryce, and played dolls and watched movies.  By the time Ava and Emma went to bed on Saturday they were all tuckered out.  Paige nearly fell asleep on the couch.  They also enjoyed getting some of the Anniversary desserts, and dinner leftovers.

Sydney and Paige are doing well in school.  They both had a good week.  Paige is doing well on her spelling and her math.  She is also starting to get used to reading books on her level, and finding some that she enjoys that don't have mostly pictures.  She is also starting to learn the cost of sloppy work.  Sydney had a great week and continues to do really well.  She is preparing for her 5k next weekend, as well as a Honor Choir concert.  Last night she nearly had a meltdown when she realized that her busy schedule had a schedule conflict.

Ava and Emma are looking forward to attending a birthday party this weekend.  Ava has been so excited that she has constantly reminded me of the saying, "Happy bird messes his nest."  Emma and Ava enjoyed my days off.  They allowed me to spoil them while I tried to spoil and surprise Trish.  I think Emma was ready for me to go back to work on Tuesday, but Ava wasn't.

Casssarra and Gabbi are doing well.  Last Friday they braved the cold of the first half of the football game enjoy their student section being featured on T.V.  The game was a blow out, and they left at halftime.  As they were pulling up to CFA, me and the motley crew that stayed home were leaving CFA with some dessert.  It was funny and somewhat strange to see Cassarra pulling up in our car.  Anyway, the two of them have been managing their school work okay.  They could both use a little more focus and attention on Math, but so far it has been better than last year.

Trish is doing well.  She has a little cold and her allergies are bothering her a bit.  Otherwise, she is well.  She said she enjoyed me being home because it gave her an extra set of eyes to watch the "busy bodies."  Boy are they busy.  I told her, I am amazed that she can do anything during the day when those two get going.  You need eyes on them at all times, especially if they get quiet.

Well, here is to hoping that you had a great week and that you have an amazing weekend.  May God, the compassionate and gracious lover of our souls, bless and keep you, give you strength and joy for the day and the weeks ahead.  May you find rest for any weariness and love for your soul.  Enjoy your family, friends and loved ones today and always.

Welcome to Friday

God is gracious, loving, compassionate and everlasting.
May the goodness of God, that exceeds all that we can ever imagine or think,
work on our behalf to prepare for us a week of joy, peace, hope, and love.
May the God, who gives rest and peace, give you rest from your worries,
peace in midst of your trials, and the overwhelming goodness of His divine presence at all times.
May the fullness of God bless you now and forever.
