Open your eyes to the birth of a new day, filled with the overwhelming and tremendous love of the Creator of the Universe.
Welcome to Friday!
1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever.
Welcome to Friday! How are you doing? How was your week? How did things go for you this week in your neck of the woods? I am sincerely hoping that things went well for you and that you can look back on this week and smile. I just wanted to check on you and see how things were going, and how did it go for you in all that you set out to accomplish this week.
My week had a number of twists, challenges, blessings and events to remember. Two of the biggest and best memories of the week include spending time with Cassarra and Gabbi during a midnight run to Denny's for pancakes, jokes, and catching up on what's going on in the "Teen World." It was a great time to sit and laugh with the older girls who, after a few moments and sips of their drinks, seem to come alive in a whole new way. The two of them shared jokes, discussed school, talked about so many things I lost track, and then proceeded to throw down a late, late night snack. By the time we got home I was dog tired, but the time with them was priceless.
The second best memory of the week was this morning with Sydney and Paige. I was able to finagle time off from work today to attend their awards ceremony. I was able to watch and capture pictures of Paige receiving awards for perfect attendance, P.E., Music, Spanish, A/B Honor Roll, and more. After going into the office for a while I was able to escape an impromptu meeting and made it to see Sydney get awards for perfect attendance, P.E., Music, Spanish, A Honor Roll, Summer reading, and more. With each award Paige looked up to where I was sitting and smiled big for the camera. Sydney was more modest, and it took a lot of skill to get a picture of her looking at the camera at all.
Of course, the week featured many other blessings including spending time with Ava and Emma at the awards ceremony this morning. Ava was surprised that I was there and enjoyed sitting with me. Emma initially seemed unimpressed. When I returned for Sydney's ceremony, they had swapped roles. Ava was unimpressed and Emma decided to sit on my lap.
Other blessings include:
- Getting to do a number of great things over the weekend.
- The older girls volunteering (safely) at a fall festival on Friday.
- Early Saturday morning we were up with the girls to attend choir practice.
- After practice we celebrated my nephew Jaziah's birthday at our house.
- We followed the cake and ice cream at home with a trip to the fall festival at our church, which was followed up by taking Gabbi to a birthday bonfire.
- Trish, Cassarra, Gabbi and I had a late night pizza party on Saturday night, where we chatted and laughed about the day
- A short, but awesome visit with mom on Saturday and brunch on Sunday.
- Trish and I were able to get some time to catch up and catch our breath on Sunday afternoon over a cup of coffee.
- Cassarra and Gabbi did well on their grades.
- A and B honor roll for Cassarra
- A's, B's and a just barely C (in Math) for Gabbi.
- A and B honor roll for Paige
- A honor roll for Sydney
- New team assignments at work
- Great Bible studies at work and at home
- A good sermon on Sunday by the guest speaker
- Winning three games in a row at basketball on Tuesday
- Thursday night dinner, including Ava's yogurt mustache and eyebrows
It has been a great week. Not perfect, and not without a challenge or two from my *favorite employee*. The little two have kept it interesting a time or two, especially late a night and early in the morning. However, when I consider it all, this has been a great week. Next week will be even better. I hope that you had a very good week. I hope that when you look back over the week you will see that it had some really wonderful and special moments. Take care and enjoy your weekend. Eat lots of candy for me and on my behalf. Be sure to spend time with loved ones, family, friends, and spend time all by yourself getting rest. Take time to remember and reflect on the truth that, "God is totally in love with you!" Enjoy your day, have a great weekend, and...
Welcome to Friday!
May the love of God, that undeniable, unstoppable, unending, and unconditional love bless, keep, and give you strength. May the peace of Christ that passes all of our human understanding rest, rule, and abide in your heart, your home, and the places you may go. May the God of eternity past, present and future give you grace, set you apart, and set you up to receive a blessing that is beyond your imagination. May His love, really, really get in you and build you up for true life.
With love (& in triumph),
Cassius
