Welcome to Friday 3.4.16

My times are in your hands.  Psalm 31:15
Welcome to Friday!
Cry for help and you'll find it's grace and more grace.  The moment He hears, He will answer. ~ Isaiah 30:19 (MSG)

Well it looks like the week has marched on its steady course and we have arrived once again at a desirable destination, Friday!  I started my morning at 3am with Ava, trying to get her back to sleep.  After 20 minutes, I managed to get her and her cough under control and she went back to bed.  I debated whether to stay up and workout or try to catch a little more sleep.  I promised myself that if I laid down I would only sleep until the first alarm and first snooze.  Well, I kept my promise, sort of.  I laid down and instead of hitting snooze I disabled the whole alarm.  When I finally got up I had overslept by an hour.

How about you.  How did your day start?  How are you doing?  How is everything going with you this week, and today.  What were you up to and what things did you celebrate this week?  Did you hit all your goals and take care of the most important things you needed to take care of throughout the week?

If you had a tough start, or a tough week maybe we can both take some comfort in today's devotional reading from Max Lucado:

Problems [issues, trials, troubles, failures and setbacks] inhabit our world,
but they don't control it!
Grace [God's inexhaustible grace] does.

Overall, despite the 3am start to Friday, I had a great week.  We celebrated Trish's birthday over the course of the weekend.  I had a blast watching the girls try to spoil their mom with gifts, appreciation and helpfulness.  The older girls watched the whole crew for me to take Trish out a couple of times.  And Trish and I had Kiki's Chicken and Waffles on Friday and enjoyed the great food, new location, live music and atmosphere.  The food and mood were great, but as always the company is queen.  I love time with Trish.

Cassarra received an award from the Urban League for her accomplishments in high school.  She was a part of a three hour awards ceremony that they haven't stopped talking about yet.  Afterwards, Cassarra and I had a nice early dinner together.  We chatted about her college plans, her major and some of the cool things she was up to.  Then she volunteered to help watch the girls so I could surprise Trish with a 2nd date night of the weekend.

We also celebrated the birthday weekend with dinner on Sunday, and the little people were mostly well behaved.  Emma had a few extra bathroom trips, and Ava didn't really eat all of her dinner, but she behaved.  The birthday cake was from Sweet Temptations Bakery, and it was excellent.  The bakery makes one of Trish's favorite cakes.  The kids enjoyed it as well.  They probably enjoyed it too much because it seemed to disappear all too soon.

I was off on Monday and Emma made sure I enjoyed my day.  She treated me to watching her favorite shows, playing games and lots of "Daddy, daddy" conversations.  It was fun until she started getting tired.

All in all, everyone is doing well and we had a good week.  We are all looking forward to enjoying the weekend.  I hope that you are doing well and that things are going well with you and in your sphere of the world.  Have a great rest of the day and an absolutely fantastic weekend.  As always,
Welcome to Friday!
