Casting all your cares upon him; for he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7
Welcome to Friday!
Awesome and mighty is the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth, and he is so worthy of all honor, glory and praise.
The King Eternal, Sovereign and Holy bless you and keep you, watch over you, comfort you, and give you a peace -
that passes and surpasses all understanding.
Welcome to Friday! I am as eager and delighted to write to you as I am to pray that your day is fully enriched and supplied by the immeasurable riches of God's love and grace. I am so excited that today is Friday and that a new week is coming to an end. So, how are you doing? What were you up to and doing this week? How did it go for you in regards to the things you had planned, the things you wanted to do, and the somewhat unexpected interruptions that you faced? I hope that you are doing well; blessed, favored, comforted, and strengthened. I hope that your week has gone well and that it has featured open doors, success, friendship, compassion, grace, and tenderness. I hope that your week featured power to accomplish your goals, peace to handle the interruptions, and comfort and compassion for everything and every moment in between. At this moment I hope that your spirits are lifted, your hopes are up, your health is mending, and your heart is full with expectancy for the love of God to pour into and on you.
I am doing well this week. It has been a short week for me. I had vacation at the end of last week for the 4th holiday, and I had two days off this week. Well, one and a half. I have had so much joy and excitement over the course of the week with the girls and Trish. I have enjoyed what God has given me so much this week:
- Trish and I had a very nice dinner date
- Fourth of July food and fun
- Grilled burgers, sausage, hotdogs
- Homemade cheesecake that made me wonder why we ever bought store brands
- Time talking, laughing and making memories
- I ate too much, but it was good
- We had a very nice dinner at the house with the older two and youngest two
- Lots of fun serving at Manna Station on Saturday
- Hearing a friends testimony of faith
- Beautiful songs from our church member, Cheryl
- Meeting the new pastor
- A great sermon and worship service
- Taking part in a homeless feeding ministry in the park on Wednesday
- The girls wanting to go and serve was heart warming and amazing
- Meeting up with other friends from outside of church
- Talking faith and formation
- Learning so much during this one hour (service, worship, humility, compassion, grace)
- Fun time together over the dinner table with Ava, Emma and Trish while the other kids are away
- Text messages and jokes from friends and family have put me in stitches
- Laughing with my sister at her house
- Seeing Syd and Paige off to spend time a grandma's camp
- Hearing their stories of exploration, trips to the store, and their adventures
- More homemade cheesecake
- Free coffee on Wednesday
- Lunch with a former co-worker and friend and getting some encouragement on life and raising teens
- Working out in the morning at the YMCA with Trish
- Recovering files from my failing work laptop
- Winning at least two games this week
- 0-3 on Tuesday and 2-1 on Thursday
The girls are all doing well this week. Sydney and Paige have been enjoyed time with their grandparents. They haven't sent me many details, only the occasional joke, or "hello." I am so glad that they get to do this. They have fun, they get away, we get a break, they get to be spoiled, and their grandparents get to spend time with them. Plus when they get back I'm sure we will get a play by play with lots of details and laughter.
Cassarra and Gabbi are enjoying a leadership conference. They are getting a chance to experience something new, put their tremendous skills, gifts and talents to work, as well as learning more ways to be successful and confident. They definitely have opportunities in front of them, and Trish and I continue to try to encourage them to take advantage of every thing they can.
Ava and Emma seem to be enjoying the time to themselves in various configurations. They do ask about each pair of sisters, but then they also seem to ask about a lot of other things like: ice cream, pops, cake pops, dessert, and my favorite "Daddy can you stay home today?" They also seem to be a little, not much, calmer in the late afternoon without one of the prime family instigators present (she will remain nameless).
Trish is doing well. Hopefully we will get to enjoy a nice dinner at home tonight, since we don't have a sitter, and then some more time to relax and chat on Sunday.
Praying that you have a great day and a wonderful and refreshing weekend. May God, who holds all, hold you in his hand with joy, delight over you, and give you all you need in better ways than you could have imagined. With joy and expectancy...
Welcome to Friday!
"Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.'" (Job 28:28)Love is irresistible, irrefutable, undeniable. Nothing rises to it. The dark side of our character has no weapon against it. It's our trump card. - Jim Daly
God do for you today something wonderful and splendid by giving you copious amounts of encouragement and joy.
